How to Identify Your MSI Laptop Model Before Downloading Drivers
Distinguish the laptop marketing model, complete regional SKU and serial number before choosing an MSI driver.

Read the device label
MSI identifies the bottom barcode label as one place to find a notebook model. Copy the full model text, including its regional suffix if shown. Your serial number identifies the individual device and is not a public driver-model name.
Compare the firmware marketing name
MSI also describes checking the Marketing Name in BIOS. Read it without changing firmware settings. This can identify a family, but may not supply the full regional SKU needed for this site’s exact-model lookup.
Confirm the complete variant
Compare the device label with your packaging or purchase documentation. Do not treat a shared family name as proof that two regional variants have the same components or drivers.
Use the specification as a hardware reference
Search the exact SKU here. A saved official specification can identify factory hardware, while the recorded driver operating systems are a separate field. If the complete variant remains uncertain, use MSI support rather than installing a similar model’s package.

This independent checklist summarizes selected steps. Consult MSI’s original support article for the full procedure.
